Your body depends on water to survive. Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body needs water to work correctly.

Water is needed for good health. If you do not replace the water you use, you can become dehydrated.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM DEHYDRATED?

  • little or no urine
  • dry mouth
  • sleepiness or fatigue
  • extreme thirst
  • headache
  • confusion
  • dizziness or lightheaded feeling

TIPS FOR STAYING HYDRATED

  • 6­8oz glasses of water each day
  • water can also be found in fruits and vegetables
  • after intense exercising a sport drink may be helpful
  • be sure to drink before, during, and after a workout
