Sarkis Avetisyan Project

The Sarkis Avetisyan Project will be to donate basketball equipment for the Khachatur Abovyan Gymnasium located in Yerevan, Armenia.

We will be donating equipment in the honor and memory of a teacher, Sarkis Avetisyan, who was loved by his students, friends and the entire community. Sarkis passed away a few years ago after battling cancer; he left behind three children and his wife.

He was a close friend to the HoopsForKids family. It will be an honor for us to dedicate our first project in his name.

Project status: Completed!

Hoops For Kids was pleased to travel over to Yerevan, Armenia.  We had the privilege to restore the basketball court at Kachatour Abovian School.   We were able to do following work;  install new rims, backboards, paint the gym walls, and install LED lighting.

We would like to thank Sarbeg Abramian for his efforts of bringing equipment for the rehab and managing the project for us during his stay in Armenia.

Completing this project could not have been a reality without the stateside support of Zak Fridlender who backed our first of many planned basketball rehab projects with a generous donation.

We invite you to be a part of our next project and with your help we can bring our kids together one hoop at a time using the universal language of basketball!
